Hello! I just got back yesterday from a week stay at the Westin Aruba. I has an amazing time in Aruba and would go back again. The Westin is a beautiful hotel right on the beach. They have some great restaurants inside (Blossom was my favorite they have Hibachi to die for). They also have a nice casino. I do have some complaints though.

First off, after 10 hours of traveling, we got the the hotel and at check in we were told we didn't have reservations. The woman was kind and gave us a room so we could relax and figure everything out by calling hotels.com. She told us we needed to put down a credit card for incidentals to the room. The card would not go through and she told us it was probably because we were out of the country. Turns out she tried to charge the card $1900 and the credit card company wouldn't let it go through because of fraud risk....more then a big mistake. After a $55 call to hotels.com we were told it was the hotels mistake.

The service by the hotel staff was ok. We requested a fridge in our room and had to call back 3 times and wait an hour for it which was annoying. Having to call multiple times for things happend a lot. Also getting a drink by the server in the casino was nearly impossible seeing there was only one server on. But everyone was VERY friendly. The cost is high at the Westin but it is a very nice hotel. Every hotel has pros and cons. Also do some research on the RIU right next to the westin. It is a gorgeous hotel and is also all inclusive which will save a lot of money. Also there is no hot tub at the Westin which is usually standard at resorts. Have fun in Aruba!!!! Oh yea and one more thing you have to do down there is the Jolly Pirates boat tour/snorkeling!! SOOO FUN! :) email me with questions at mar_eliza88@yahoo.com if you have any!

I stayed there last October and did the all-inclusive. It was well worth it. The resort is amazing and newly renovated. I would definitely stay there again. I also know others who stay there every year.

I'm not really sure what the person before me was talking about with the restaurants. One breakfast, one lunch, one drinner, and all the drinks you want are included. The breakfast buffet that has every breakfast food you would want. Lunch is at the beachside restaurant. And there are many restaurants to choose from for dinner (which are all very good). There's a steakhouse/seafood restaurant and an Italian restaurant. Then there's a Japanese restaurant that's amazing. The all-inclusive only covers about $90 of this, but we didn't have to pay much more. There's a dinner show that only cost I think $20 each if you are all-inclusive and includes dinner. There's a sunset dinner on the beach that's $20 with all-in.

Just for fun, we added up all the drinks and food and it was definitely worth it for the all-in. The food and drinks are so expensive on their own.

I wouldn't stay there. There are many more hotels in Aruba that are much more beautiful. My issue with the Westin was that the pictures on the site were very misleading. They said that there was a multimillion dollar renovation and led you to believe that it was much prettier than it was. Our room was older looking and the bathroom was a bit disgusting. You could tell it was a really old building that had been renovated in parts (key word: in parts):) Overall, I had fun though. Aruba is a wonderful place to vacation.

I am planning a trip to aruba in the spring and called the Westin to inquire about their "all inclusive" plan they have on their website. Its limited to only 3 of the 6 restaurants for food and drink. All other restaurants you will pay out of pocket for, so its a limited all inclusive option.
