Hi all,
Heading to Aruba in february for the first time. Bought a ticket and have a free place to stay via a friends timeshare. I'm on a budget, but still am looking to have some fun when there.

Any beaches, clubs, things to do that people recommend?
Also, looking to rent a motorcycle for a few days... I see the rates range from 45-100 bucks. Any rental places that are recommended?

Also, whats the deal with drinking on the beach... are the cops tough? THANKS!!!!

There are a number of beaches that you can visit. Aruba has some of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Palm Beach is nice but is a busy crowded stretch where most of the resorts are. I would recommend taking a day trip to Eagle Beach, Araschi Beach and/or Baby Beach. Eagle Beach is a wider less crowded beach. Araschi and Baby are shallow, wide and are good for snorkeling (Baby is better than Araschi for snorkeling, but the beach is better at Araschi). You should not have any issues with open containers of alcohol on the beach. There are tons of beach bars and as long as you don't get too wasted and surly you should be fine.

I suggest renting a 4 wheel drive vehicle for a day and explore the back side of the island. Here you will find the Natural Pool, the Natural Bridge (which has since collapse but there are other "baby" bridges there), Alto Vista Chapel and a few other interesting sites. You can also take an excursion to these sites as well if you don't want to rent a jeep. If you want to rent a motorcycle, you should probably look outside of the Palm Beach and airport areas if you can. These spots will likely have higher prices as they are primary tourist areas.

Downtown Oranjestad and the Palm Beach area has plenty of shopping, casinos and lots of restaurants. Some recommendations for restaurants - Madame Janette, Que Pasa, Cuba Cookin, and Nos Canucu. Amazonia is a good bet too if you like lots and lots of grilled meat! Clubbing is not really my scene but there are a couple of them downtown that are often jumping late into the night.

Aruba has a lot to offer especially if you can explore the island a bit. Have fun!

Water sports are a big attraction. All you have to do is walk around the beach in the high-rise resort area and you'll find snorkeling, parasailing, banana boats, submarine rides, and anything else you might want to do. I enjoyed the semi-submarine ride to the wreck of the Antilla. It was very scenic and the narration was very informative.

The donkey sanctuary, the bird sanctuary, and the butterfly farm are popular attractions too. The California Lighthouse at the north end of the island is worth seeing too. We were there when the sun was setting and it was a great place to take some pictures.

As for drinking, if you're underage you should avoid it. You don't want to wind up in jail that far from home.

Aruba is very relaxed when it comes to rules. All the beaches are great. The "tourist" area is down by the high-rise hotels, lots of water sports but they all cost money.

hello , :)

I go to Aruba every year and there is a lot of attractions like you can go to the natural pool, para sailing, horseback riding and jet skiing. If you go to eagle beach and walk down to a resort called "costa de mar" there is called mathews. No the cops are not tough you dont even have to wear seat belts in the back of the car.

your welcome,

have a great trip !

Definitely make sure of the drinking laws, don't want to go to jail in a 3rd world country. To me it looked like a boring island, very flat. However, tons of water sports from what I've seen. Clubs too.

You'll get better answers I'm sure, check with a travel agency, they'll know.
