I'm going to Aruba at the end of this month, and I'm wondering if my phone will
get a signal in Aruba so I can send a text to my niece to wish her a Happy Birthday
while I'm there? I'm a customer of TMobile.

Some GSM phones work in Aruba. Please check with your cellular provider if they have a roaming agreement with their local cellular company and if your phone is set up with international roaming. The roaming costs are mostly quite high, it might be more cost effective to rent a cellular phone in Aruba.

Yes you will get a signal. Make sure your International calling/ Roaming service is turned on. You can do this by either going to your T-Mobile page on their website, or calling customer service before you go to Aruba.

Once you are in Aruba, your service might be another provider depending on T-Mobile's tie up service (for example, in London, your T-Mobile serviced phone will be serviced by Vodafone).

I suggest testing it as soon as you land there.

When I went in March I had no signal. You can call T-Mobile and ask them to set your phone as international, or you can buy/rent a SIM card while you're in Aruba.

I am not sure if it will work but as the other answer stated you should call T-Mobile and get them to set it up that you can make calls and text.
